Design Discourses II
In this theory-based module, students explore key concepts and contemporary discourses at the intersection of design, technology, and society. The course provides a collaborative platform for performative readings, exchange and discussion, bringing together students from both Master’s year groups to critically engage with the theoretical frameworks that shape modern design practices.
The module encourages students to conduct in-depth examinations of theories specific to design, technology, and society, and supports the application of these theoretical concepts to their own design and research practice. Additionally, students are expected to actively participate in current debates, critically contributing to contemporary discourse. By bridging theory with practice, this module equips students with the intellectual tools necessary to analyze and influence the evolving role of design in today’s complex world.
